September/October, 2018 - Faith and Practice Sundays September 9, 16, 23, and October 7 from 10:30 - 11:30am, Tetsugan and Dosho will lead dharma study sessions on The Undying Lamp of Zen: The Testament of Zen Master Torei (trs., Thomas Cleary), Chapter 2: Faith and Practice. Everyone is welcome to attend on a drop-in basis, and no previous meditation or Buddhist study experience is required. This Sunday, September 23, the focus will be Compassion, pp. 22-26.
If attending Sunday sessions on a drop-in basis, there is no fee for NZC members or friends making monthly contributions; for non-members, the suggested donation is $10 per session.
Those dropping in are also welcome to attend the earlier portion of Sunday morning practice, which includes zazen, liturgy and caretaking, beginning at 7:25am. Previous Zen meditation experience is required for this portion of the morning.
Note: The door is locked at 7:25; if you arrive late, you are welcome to return at 10:15 for the Dharma Study session.
