This is a 10-week class session - Tuesdays, 6:30-8:30pm, March 20 – May 22. Practicing the Ten Precepts unfolds of the heart of the Buddha Way in daily life. Precept practice is an essential complement to zazen. This unfolding has three aspects - ethics, compassion, and nonduality. In this class, we will explore each precept and its application in real life.
This class is open to everyone, especially those new or newer to the Zen path. No previous meditation experience or Zen study is required. If you are interested in receiving the precepts formally (during the ceremony known as Jukai) from the teachers at NZC in the future, study of the precepts is a vital part of the Jukai process.
